Jump on this amazing opportunity to get feedback on your options from Jamila Scott, whose career includes her current role as Consultant for TY Music and A&R for Ella Eyre, CEO of Into The Blue Management, plus 13 years experience of working in the music industry including roles at Warner Music and Method Music.

From discovering Disclosure on MySpace to working with Years & Years and developing them to the point of signing to Polydor and even booking SZA for her first SXSW show, Jamila has played an active part in multiple areas of the business with a variety of artists.  Last years sessions was in high demand, so don’t miss your opportunity to get an insight into the A&R world.

You’ll be invited to submit music to receive feedback and advice from Jamila. Please note that if you are shortlisted, you may be invited to speak to Jamila from a live audience.

Jamila Scott has over thirteen years' experience in the music industry, having worked at Polydor, Warner Records and management companies such as Method Records and Tileyard Music. She has signed and A&R'd a number of artists, including Lion Babe and Years & Years. Jamila now runs her own management company, Into The Blue where she manages Melle Brown, Jack Kane, Halfrhymes and Hannah Yadi.

 

Alongside her management and A&R duties Jamila has run tastemaker blog Cruel Rhythm since 2011 - the blog is credited with discovering Disclosure amongst others, and Jamila has worked with partners including Sonos and Hype Machine on events featuring artist performances early in their careers with acts like SZA, Kelis, Dua Lipa and Stormzy at SXSW, Great Escape and more.

The Gate is housed in a Grade II listed church building, formerly the Plasnewydd Presbyterian Church and school hall. It is located in Keppoch Street overlooking Plasnewydd Square in the Roath area of Cardiff.
